By applying a template, users can streamline dashboard creation by using an existing structure instead of starting from scratch.
Step 1: Accessing an existing Template
- Open the New Dashboard home page.
- Click Start with a Template.
- Select Apply Template.
- The following Template window appears.
- A Template can be applied in 3 ways-
- Search a Template by name
- Create a new template
- Select an existing template from the list displayed.
Step 2: Applying and Configuring a Template
- Available Templates

View the list of available templates under the Select Template section.

Each template is displayed as a thumbnail with its name.

Click on the desired template and select Apply Template.
- Search Template

Use the search bar to find a specific template by name.

The system will filter and highlight the correct template.
- Configure Template Settings

Choose the data option to apply to the template.

Users can:

Apply a template layout and map their own data.

Apply Custom Data Mappings for specific data types to quickly link assets.
-

- Click on Select Data Source to select a data source for the new dashboard where template needs to be applied.
- Apply Template Button
- After selecting the correct template and data mapping, click Apply Template.
- The selected template will be applied to the dashboard.
- Click on the Lock sign at any given time gives two options:
- Go To Template - This will redirect you back to the applied template to be edited or configured.

- The Lock symbol shows the status of a template if it's been currently used by Dashboards and changes might affect on other linked dashboards.

- Linked Dashboards: This will display the list of Dashboards the template is linked to.

- Data Profiles: Data Profiles allow you to associate different data sources to the widgets in a Max Insights Template. This enables you to reuse a single template across different assets, scenarios, or datasets by simply switching the profile without editing the visualization components. They allow the same template to be reused across multiple rigs, wells, or assets by simply changing the data profile, rather than recreating or editing the template.

- Click the Data profile to open the panel labeled Data Profiles on the right side of the screen as below.

2. Set or Confirm Active Customer:

In the Data Profiles panel, check the Active Customer dropdown at the top.

Ensure it reflects the correct customer/workspace (e.g., Max Insight Demo).

If needed, click the dropdown and select a different customer.

3. Add a New Profile:

If no profiles exist for the selected customer (as seen in the screenshot), you'll need to create one:

Click the + (Add) icon next to the search bar.

- For an existing profile on the template, it displays the Template Source and the Asset Root as below:

4. Assign Data Sources
-

- Each widget or template source will be listed (e.g., NOV Demo Blender, Asset Root - Replay Data).
- To modify based on the current data source needs, click the Select Data Source button next to each one.
- Choose the appropriate data source from the list that appears to apply the same template ona different asset.

- Repeat for all sources required by the template.

5. Name and Save the Profile

- In the Profile Name field:
- Enter a name that clearly identifies the asset or purpose (e.g., Well 102 Replay Data, Test Rig Live Feed).
- Keep the name under 50 characters.
- Click Save Profile to store the configuration.
- In the Profile Name field:

- Once saved, the profile becomes available for reuse and switching.
- Minus - Deletes the Data Profile

6. Apply a Saved Profile
-

- Return to the Data Profiles panel at any time.
- Use the search bar to find a previously saved profile for the selected customer.
- Click on the profile name to apply it to your current template.

Notes:
-
Missing Data Warning: If no source is selected for a widget, it may display as “N/A”.

Profile Scope: Profiles are customer-specific. You won’t see or apply profiles saved under a different customer.
-
Profile Flexibility: One template can support many assets just by switching profiles — no need to duplicate templates for each scenario.

- Unlink from Template - Unlinks the Dashboard from the Template.
-

- This will generate a new Dashboard for the selected asset.

Step 3: Save your New Dashboard
