What are Charts?
Charts can be used to visualize real-time and/or historical data from one or multiple channels on a single widget. Below are the steps to create different types of charts:
1. Creating Line Charts
A Line Chart is a graphical representation of data points connected by a line, typically used to track changes over time. It helps visualize trends, fluctuations, and patterns in real-time or historical data. Below are the steps to create Line Charts.
Step 1: Select Line Chart from the Add Widget Panel to Add a Line Chart widget.
- Click Add Data Source.
- Follow the prompts to select the correct data source.
Step 2: Choose a Channel
- From the dropdown list, select the correct channel.
- Repeat through '+' as necessary to add multiple channels.
Step 3: Configure the Line Chart and Channel Settings
- Configure the Line Charts with the following Settings based on your needs.

- Creates an exact copy of the widget on the dashboard.
- Helps in quickly replicating charts with configurations without manual setup.

- Enables data export for analysis in external tools.

- Click on the Export button as shown above:
- Line Charts can be exported as CSV files.
- Maximum time limit to export a CSV or PDF is currently set to 1 year.

- Export for 1 year is currently limited to a single asset and 10 channels as of now to avoid performance issues.

In the Export CSV window, you will see the following options:

- Default name is based on the widget name (e.g., "Line Chart").
- You can rename it for better organization.
- Time Range
- Defines the period for which data will be exported.
- Click on the Clock symbol to open up the Quick Range options:
- Quick Range is set with the following options: from Last 5 mins to 1 year or a Custom range that will work for a max limit of 1 year as well.
- File Name

- Determines the data sampling rate.
- The default resolution is 1 second, but it can be adjusted based on precision needs.
- Unit Selection
- Specifies the time unit (e.g., Seconds, Minutes, Hours).
- Useful for controlling data granularity.

- Allows you to export calculated values for the channel such as Raw Data, Average, Min, Max and Range for convenience.
- Clicking on Export button starts the export whose status can be seen in the progress bar on top right of the screen.
- The status of the download is also displayed on the screen as the download progresses.
- Click on the down arrow next to the progress bar to download and save the file on your device's Download folder.

- Customize the name of the channel for better identification.

- Precision: Defines decimal accuracy (e.g., 0.00, 0.000).
- UOM (Unit of Measurement): Select the appropriate unit (e.g., ft, RPM, °C).

- Allows users to set alerts for abnormal values.
- Example: Trigger an alarm if RPM exceeds 200.

Alert Settings (Warning Level)
- Low: Minimum value that triggers a warning.
- High: Maximum value that triggers a warning.
- Example: If Low = 10 and High = 50, an alert is triggered when the value falls outside this range.

Fault Settings (Critical Level)
- Low Low: Extreme low value indicating a critical fault.
- High High: Extreme high value indicating a critical fault.
- Example: If Low Low = 5 and High High = 60, a fault alert is triggered when the value crosses these limits.

Cooldown Period
- Defines the waiting time before an alarm resets.
- Example: A 2-hour cooldown prevents repeated alerts within that period.

Step 6: Add a Calculated Channel to a Line Chart Widget
Prerequisite: Ensure you’ve already created your Calculated Channel under Settings > Calculation.

Select “Add Calculated Channel”

In the Data Source tab, click the "Add Calculated Channel" button.

Use the Search bar or filters (Category, Sharing Filter) to locate your channel.

- Notice the red warning text: “Select Channel Settings to Configure” — this indicates the channel has not yet been fully configured.
- Click the gear icon (⚙️) above next to the channel name to open its configuration.

Click Select Datasource.

A list of available data sources will appear (e.g., “Rig 1”, “Live Data”, or any custom source).

Select the appropriate source that contains the calculated channel data (
rig_1_tripping_speedin this case).

Once the correct data source is assigned:

The red error will disappear.

Click on Tripping Speed to add it to the chart.

2. Creating Bar Charts

Step 1: Add Table
- Click on Table to add a table to a Dashboard.
- Tables can be used to display multiple channel values from one asset in a tabular format.

Step 3: Choose an Asset and Channel
- From the dropdown list, select the correct asset and channel.
- Repeat as necessary to add multiple channels.

4. Adding an Advanced Table
The Advanced Table allows users to display data from multiple assets and channels in one table.
Step 1: Set Up Rows
