1. Types of Gauges

Gauge Type Description
Label Gauge Displays a single raw channel value or a calculated channel value.
Linear Gauge Displays a single raw or calculated channel value as a number with a horizontal bar showing the value between a minimum and maximum.
Vertical Linear Gauge Displays a single raw or calculated channel value as a number with a vertical bar showing the value between a minimum and maximum.
Circular Gauge Displays a single raw or calculated channel value as a number with a circular bar showing the value between a minimum and maximum.
Sparkline Gauge
Displays a single raw channel value over a specified period of time as a number and a horizontal line that changes over time.
Status Gauge
Displays whether a channel is active. Green = Active; Gray = Inactive.

2. Configuring Gauges

Step 1: Adding a Gauge and Datasource

  • Add any gauge from the Add Widget Panel and Select a Data Source
  • Click Add Data Source.

  • Follow the prompts to select the correct data source.


Step 2: Choose a Channel

  • From the dropdown list, select the correct channel.

  • Choose a channel as needed.


Step 3: Configure the Gauge Settings

  • From the options, configure the Gauge settings as shown below:

Setting Description
Enable Calculations Performs front-end calculations for the selected channel over the dashboard's period. Options include Sum, Average, Max, and Min.
Transparent Background Makes the gauge background transparent, allowing it to overlay other dashboard elements.
Display Title  Adds a title to the gauge, which can be centered or left-aligned. 
Override Text Settings Modifies the font color, style and size for the Channel attribute name and value for that gauge.
Add Link Allows adding a link to a dashboard or URL:
– Enter the name of the dashboard or the URL.
– Choose to open in the same window or a new tab.
– Set a display name (max 45 characters).

Step 4: Understanding Channel Settings

  1. Display Name

    • Customize the name of the channel for better identification.
    • Example: Rename "Auger 1 RPM" to "Drill Speed RPM" if necessary.
  2. Precision & Units of Measurement (UOM)

    • Min & Max: Defines the scale (e.g., 0 to 300 as shown in the screenshot).
    • Precision: Defines decimal accuracy (e.g., 0.00, 0.000).
    • UOM (Unit of Measurement): Select the appropriate unit (e.g., ft, RPM, °C).
  3. Enable Alarm 🔔 (Requires Permission)

    • Enable Alarm – Set alerts for values exceeding a predefined range.
      Show Good State – Highlights when values return to normal.
      Stale Data Indicator – Warns when the gauge is not receiving updated data.
    • Example: Trigger an alarm if RPM exceeds 200.

4. Stale Data Indicator

    • Notifies users when data is outdated or unresponsive.
    • Useful for monitoring sensor connectivity and real-time updates.

3. Save Gauge Settings

  • Save gauge settings once configured.

 


4. Accessing Gauge Settings

  • Click on the three dots menu (⋮) in the top-right corner of the gauge widget.

  • The dropdown menu provides the following options:

    • View 👁 – Expands the widget for a detailed look.
    • Edit ✏️ – Opens the settings panel for customization. Feel free to swap between different gauge options.
    • Duplicate 📄 – Creates a copy of the gauge widget. 
    • Export 📤 – Allows users to export the gauge data in csv format.
      • Below is an example of a csv file.

    • Remove 🗑 – Deletes the gauge widget from the dashboard.
