This article gives a general idea of templates and their configuation. For more detailed steps, please visit "Templates" section under Settings Page.

A Template is a preconfigured dashboard layout that helps users quickly visualize data. Templates can be shared across a company or among specific users, ensuring consistency in data analysis. Templates provide a powerful way to standardize, simplify, and accelerate data visualization in MAX Insight. By using preconfigured dashboards, teams can focus on insights rather than setup.

1. Benefits of Using Templates

  • Saves Time – No need to manually configure each widget.
  • Consistency Across Teams – Standardized dashboard views for all users.
  • Easier Onboarding – New users can instantly access prebuilt dashboards.
  • Flexible Data Mapping – Users can apply their own data while maintaining a structured layout.

2. Applying a Template

Users can apply an existing template in two ways:

Option 1: New Dashboard Home Page

  • Click Apply Template from the "Start with a Template" section.
  • The Template Selection Dialog Box will open.
  • Select the desired template from the list.

Option 2: Three Dots (⋮) Menu

  • Open the three dots menu on the dashboard.
  • Click Apply a Template from the dropdown options.
  • The Template Selection Dialog Box will appear.

3. Template Selection and Search Options

  • Selecting a Template
    • Available templates appear as thumbnails, each displaying a preview image and the template name.
    • Click on the template you want to use.
    • Click the Apply Template button at the bottom of the dialog box.
  • Search for a Template
    • Type the template name in the search bar.
    • The system will filter the list to show matching results.

4. Configuring Template Settings

  • Once a template is selected, users need to configure how data is applied:
    • Apply Template Layout – Uses the template’s layout but allows users to map their own data sources.
    • Apply Custom Data Mapping – For templates designed for specific data types, users can link their own assets or data sources to the prebuilt structure.
